My name is Jean Hutchinson, I am Devon born and raised and wherever my adventures have taken me, Devon always calls me home.
I have been a Healer now for 30 years and am a member of the Healing Trust (National Federation of Spiritual Healers).
I started my working life as a medical secretary, but I always wanted to know more, explore more and learn more. My adventures began when I emigrated to Australia in 1964 where I met my husband and had my first daughter. We then continued our adventures in Canada in 1966 where we lived for three and a half years.
We eventually returned home to Devon where my second daughter was born and although I did not know it then, she would be the catalyst to bring healing into my life.
Healing and spirituality were all things that I had no knowledge of, and if I am honest, thought was a load of rubbish. Whilst living in Devon my daughter was diagnosed with an allergy to house dust. It may sound trivial but was extremely distressing and wearing as she had a permanent cold. Sleep was difficult and not being allowed any cuddly toys or pets was upsetting for a young girl. Unbeknown to me a healer had recently moved to the area from Kent (right place and perfect timing!!!!!). A friend recommended me to her as she felt she may be able to help my daughter. As I have said my opinion on these types of things was that it was all rubbish and just a bunch of crackpot ideas. After giving it some thought I reasoned that it certainly couldn't harm her and I felt I owed it to her to give it a try. She had her first healing in January, second in February and third in March and it worked and it wasn't long before her bedroom was full of stuffed toys and we had a dog!!!
My mind was blown wide open by this new world I was being shown. After asking more questions than I care to remember, I asked if I could become a healer and I have never looked back.
After becoming a healer, I got to know other healers and we held a drop in session at my house for almost 5 years. By this time I wanted to know more, see more and experience more about this fascinating subject. There are so many different healers out there, using different methods, with different beliefs and I wanted to know about all of it.
My travels started small with adventures in Canterbury and Croydon, all the time soaking up people's different beliefs and opinions. I once again returned to Devon in 2000, my husband had passed and my children were grown, and that is when my more adventurous travels began. I started with volunteering in India, where I looked after disadvantaged children. In 2010 I volunteered in Morocco for three months looking after the abandoned babies in the orphanage. When you are a healer you are drawn to all things spiritual and my knowledge and understanding was growing with each day, taking little bits from all different cultures that I felt deep down were just right.
My next trip was to Guatemala, actually my next 4 trips were to Guatemala where I learnt from Sri Ram Kaa and Kira Raa. Once again learning new therapies and so much more.
I have learnt so much over the years and I have learnt that yes, there are some crackpots out there, but there are hundreds of different beliefs and techniques to achieve wellness and spirituality.
The idea of healing and spirituality can be off putting and frightening but what it boils down to is me wanting to help people feel better, to get more out of life, and if they want to, explore their own spirituality. But everyone has their own path and if you are just looking for some help with a bad back then why not give healing a try, it really can be as simple as that. As I have always said "what have you got to lose".
